1. Who We Are

Downdar is a real-time monitoring tool for websites, servers, and endpoints, operated at downdar.com. When we say "we", "us", or "our", we mean Downdar.

2. What We Collect

Account data: When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and billing information. Billing is processed by Stripe. We never store your payment card details.

Monitoring data: We log the URLs, endpoints, and status check results you configure for monitoring in order to provide uptime reports, alerts, and historical logs. We log check timestamps and your API key hash for billing and analytics purposes. We do not access or store any content returned by your monitored endpoints beyond what is needed to determine status.

Technical data: We may collect your IP address, request headers, and response times for security and performance monitoring.

3. What We Don't Collect

We do not store the content, headers, or body of responses from your monitored endpoints beyond what is needed to determine status. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not run advertising.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data to provide and improve the service, bill you accurately, detect abuse and fraudulent usage, and improve the accuracy and reliability of our uptime monitoring.

5. Data Retention

Account data is retained for the duration of your account and deleted within 30 days of account closure. Monitor check logs are retained for 12 months for billing and dispute purposes.

6. Third Parties

We use the following third-party services: Stripe for payment processing, and infrastructure providers for hosting. These providers have their own privacy policies and are contractually prohibited from using your data for any other purpose.

7. Security

We store API keys as one-way hashes and never in plain text. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest.

8. Your Rights

You may request access to your personal data, request deletion of your account and associated data, or update your account information at any time by contacting us at hello AT downdar DOT com.

9. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

10. Changes

We may update this policy at any time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new privacy policy.
